I'm in the process of revising the rules. The idea is to simplify, going back to the published En Garde! rules and rebuild from there. If you have a concern or suggestion, please post here or you are welcome to PM me. It could be that an element is already slated to change or disappear. Thank you!
Will there be any developmental prospects for Clergy or Medical professsions? Will the rules include an Army base career path Will all players have new characters?

Hi Rachael, The idea is to simplify and get everyone playing together on the same track. As stated on the front page of the forum and an e-mail sent through the Yahoogroup, "This is a fresh start with new characters for everyone."

Cool. I've even got a hard copy of the original rules somewhere. This includes the first optional rules for Pistols, the Theatre and errr something else I cant remember... lol.

I don't see pistols there. Besides, the fun of duelling is to come up with a routine, sorting out all the moves. I've gotten through the social side of the rules — the book rules do not have housing so I added something there, and we need baybeeeeez! I'm looking at three different rulesets to come up with the new Briny. We'll see how it flies with the rest of "The Management." The rest of the rules, campaign & such, requires more concentration for consistency.

I much prefer the original rules for duelling... It makes people think more about stuff. The rules for Pistols also have their won routines. I'll see if I can find them and send you them.

This is taking a bit more than I had hoped... We have some great contributors and issues of real life, etc. Anyway, the last detail is sorting out the Dueling mechanics. One goal is to be able to automate various tasks to minimize potential burnout. It may require revising how a few stats are calculated, so we need to hold off on sending out character sheets until it's settled. And of course the rules need a good read-through — I want to avoid having to make changes or corrections in the first month. If anyone has time and is particularly skilled at picking out inconsistencies in a ruleset, please PM me. It would help to have other sets of eyes on this besides The Management. Thanks!
