 The goal is to keep it at one turn per real-life month.
There are many reasons that players need to take leave from a game, sometimes emergencies and some things that are anticipated.
When I don't receive orders from a player, the character is NMR (no move received) for that month. At the third consecutive NMR, the player is considered to have dropped out.
With no orders, the character is calculated to be staying at home all four weeks. He will be subject to penalties if she does not pay off loans or if he runs out of money. If at sea, the character will continue to participate in battles.
If a player anticipates being away, s/he may submit standing orders for upcoming months.
For a long absence, at the GM's discretion, the character might become an NPC. Particularly at higher levels, other players need to interact or be able to influence the character to leave his post.
In most cases the player will be welcome to restart with a new character when time frees up and s/he is able to play again.
