I'm beginning to believe this game is actually an exquisitely sublime study on game loyalty.

My 1d worth. Generally you won't get SPs from weekend actions, otherwise you're doubling up the actions available to players.
I played another En Garde game where we had weekend actions and they were great but they tended to be role play type actions rather than social actions.
In that game, the monthly report back to players was very lengthy and there was all sorts going on. So a lot of effort went into it.

On the plus side, weekend actions were used to do various commitments and actions that in this game are pre-monthly ones. e.g. applying for appointments. If you'd like me to dig out a list of weekend actions in that game, i will happily do that.

its a thought, BUT bear in mind the poor GMs who are just trying to get to grips with the current set of rules and an totally unexpected amount of players!!

In the very first En Garde game I played in... over 20 years ago now.. (so quite close to the original rules) weekend actions were more roleplay that anything.. church and theatre could get you 1 sp for a visit per month.. no matter how many times you went.

Of course.. we need to break the GM's in gently.

Slumbers had weekends too! And everyone went insane. Repeatedly. I could claim we are avoiding weekends to protect our sanity, but speaking for myself I don't know that I have much left.
