I'm a Huuuge Lindsey Davis (and Falco) fan! I'm reading Saturnalia right now. John Maddox Roberts has a Roman detective series that's also very nice. Check out Will Adams, The Alexander Cipher. He's up to book #4 about a rogue archaeologist. I've also been reading through a few Bernard Cornwell books of various eras.
Any (Sir) Terry Prachett books. Any Sharpe or other books by Bernard Cornwell exceept the crap reble series. J.D. Robb - Naked in series SF = The Lost Fleet is a military science fiction series written by John G. Hemry under the pen name Jack Campbell. Kristine Kathryn Rusch - Retrieval Artist series 7 books

Carol just ordered 2 more Falco books, seems I have the bug too. There seems enough of the series to take some on hols later this year as well so thats a bonus
I just started a novel of Genghis Khan, "Genghis: Birth of an Empire" by Conn Iggulden. The first book of a trilogy.
Not a trilogy, now has 4 in it - Book 4 is a bit slow and pointless to be honest. Conn Iggulden -Genghis set 4 books 1 Genghis-Birth Of An Empire 2 Genghis-Bones of the Hills 3 Genghis-Lords of the Bow 4 Genghis - Empire of Silver
Can say that these are very good - Conn Iggulden -Emperor set 4 books Emperor 1 - The Gates Of Rome Emperor 2 - The Death Of Kings Emperor 3 - The Field of Swords Emperor 4 - The Gods of War
